The Oregon Native American Chamber of Commerce Scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to selected students at the awards ceremony held in October.

Application Deadline: Must be postmarked by September 16, 2005, any applications postmarked after that date will be declined.
Absolutely NO exceptions.

Student Requirements:

· Student must be enrolled and attending an Oregon University/College. All applicants must be in Undergraduate study.
· The student must be in good academic standing at their respective University/College. Any "first term" students must include their cumulative High School GPA and position in class they graduated in.
· Attach a photocopy of some form of Native American identification. This can be in the form of a citizenship card, hunting card, letter from tribe, etc. and must include a roll number and/or degree of Native American blood.
· Be actively involved in the Native American community.
· Provide a sealed official college transcript.
· Attend awards ceremony on October 26, 2005, from 11:30am-1:30pm
· A Letter of Reference is strongly recommended, although not required. If you wish to include a letter of reference, it must be on official letterhead from the individual supplying the reference. PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE.

Answer the following short answer questions:
1. How would receiving this scholarship benefit you and your educational needs?
2. How are you involved in your Native American community on or off campus?
3. What do you plan to do with your education to help "give back" to Native Americans after graduation?
4. Please add your own personal statement, and specifically include how you view your Native American heritage and its importance to you.

Reminder:
